SM25

An individual exploration into furniture design. I aimed to blend Brutalist principles with vibrant, playful elements of Mid-Century Modern design to create a functional yet lively form.
Design Influences
BrutalismRooted in the belief that architectural design should prioritize functionality and honesty. Defined by geometric shapes, clean lines, and an emphasis on craftsmanship.
Mid-Century ModernFormed in the optimism of a post-war world with the belief that good design is an essential aspect of good living. Defined by clean, uncluttered lines, organic forms, an energetic spirit, and pop art colors.
Guillerme ET ChambronDesigners Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron created clever, quirky, but livable designs. They aimed to create furniture that people would use, not just look at but were also known to add decorative flourishes to enhance designs.
